Our Mission at Maxey
We will maximize learning for all Maxey students.
Vision
We believe all students in our school need to have an equal opportunity to learn, so we will:
- Share the responsibility for helping students learn by valuing students’ prior educational experiences and cultural backgrounds.
- Promote a sense of respect among students and staff by providing a safe and physically comfortable environment.
We believe students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process, so we will:
- Utilize available technology and resources related to a given subject area.
- Research best practices in teaching to promote a variety of modalities for the learner.
- Investigate new and existing methods, materials, and resources that supplement and enhance teaching and learning.
We believe students achieve more when there are high expectations for learning, so we will strive to improve teaching through:
- On going staff development
- PLC’s
- Peer mentoring and coaching, and
- Collaboration of all staff.
