What is a PLC Day?
PLC stands for Professional Learning Communities, which are
"school improvement models aimed at improving student learning for each individual student"
.
Essentially, teachers meet regularly in groups (called PLCs) to focus on individual and overall student learning.

Elementary schools, including Maxey, dismiss early one day a month for PLC days. Usually, this is the last Tuesday of the month, but there are exceptions. (See the PTO Calendar for exact days.)

What is an Elementary Plan Day?
Elementary Plan Days are days where elementary students do not attend school. Teachers use Elementary Plan Days for planning, preparing lessons, etc. LPS Middle School and High School students generally attend school on these days. There are four Elementary Plan Days per year. Is the Maxey PTO a 501(c)(3) non-profit?
Yes. The Maxey PTO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please consult your tax advisor to see if your donation to the PTO is tax deductible.
How can I stop receiving email from the PTO?
The Maxey PTO generally sends email only to individual PTO members and volunteers who have "opted in" by
joining the PTO or signing up as a volunteer. If you are receiving unwanted emails from the Maxey PTO, please
