Maxey PTO General Meeting
January 7, 2008

Principal’s Report: Happy to report that all children have been moved in to the school and out of the portables. The 2nd graders moved in to their pod January 3. It is the first time in 7 years everyone is in house. Mr. Decker introduced Jim Dyck the architect that designed the school. Mr Dyck explained the process and rational for the design of the classrooms/addition followed by a tour.

Teacher’s Report: Thank you to the PTO for the wonderful Holiday buffet. The mobile lab has arrived and several teachers have already signed up to use it.

Secretary’s Report: The minutes from the November meeting were approved and are posted on the website www.maxeypto.org.

President’s Report: Thank you to everyone coming and for all the support to the PTO. The book exchange is February 4 – 8, information will be coming. The Science Fair and 5th grade fundraiser BBQ is March 13th.

Old Business: 2nd grade amendment passes for 2007-2008 budget, this decreased the budget by $800.

Committee Reports:

The MAX: There will be a committee meeting by the end of January. This will be announced in the Mustang Matters. The MAX is April 19th.

5th Grade Fundraising: We received the McDonalds fundraiser check, around $900. We will probably have a different type of fundraiser in the spring. We are looking for other ways to raise money.

Box Top Redemption: We received our first check $704, continues to be a good way to raise money.
