PTO General Meeting
January 11, 2010

Co-President Mary Linafelter called the regular meeting of the Maxey PTO to order at 7:03.

Principal's Report

Principal Decker reported that it has not yet been decided on how the snow days would be made up. As soon as decision has been made on making up snow days, the information will be sent out in the Maxey Messenger.

The walking path around the lower soccer field is ¾ complete. Work will resume once the weather improves.

There will be 1 or 2 portables at Maxey next year, and they will not have bathrooms.

Mr. Decker also reported that a Maxey parent is interested in streamlining the carpool lane drop-off and pick-up. More information will be presented at the March PTO Meeting.

Secretary's Report

Secretary Beth Boswell shared thank you notes from Maxey Staff. Lanny Boswell moved approval of the November minutes, seconded by Mr. Tebo. The motion passed.

Treasurer's Report

Treasurer Stephanie Blehm submitted a written report of the current financial standing of the Maxey PTO. It was also reported that a check was issued to the district for payment of the new track.

Teacher's Report

Teacher Representatives Sibyl Gruhl and Greg Tebo thanked the PTO for the Teacher Grants that teachers received. The teachers also appreciated the appetizers and deserts provided by the PTO in December.

President's Report

Co-Presidents Mary Schleich and Mary Linafelter reported that the remaining QSP food products would be donated to the after school program at Maxey.

The PTO is seeking members to serve on the nominating committee. Anyone that is interested in serving, or has a suggestion of some one who may be interested, please contact any member of the Executive Committee.

Student directories will be issued the week of January 11. An electronics-recycling day will be held on April 17th.

Committee Reports

After School Classes

126 students have enrolled and classes will begin February 2nd.

Year Book

The ordering deadline for yearbooks will be extended to February 1st. The committee is requesting that anyone with pictures taken at Maxey please send them to Angel Coleman.

Fifth Grade Fundraising

The All School Barbeque will be held the same night as the science fair.
